New year, new lockdown, new ways of working.......

We’d like to start by wishing you all a very Happy New Year and also thank you for the support and encouragement you’ve given us in the first three months of us opening the business.

We remain eager to continue offering delicious plant based food, freshly prepared and cooked but think we need to slightly alter the way we work because of the times we find ourselves in. We want to reduce any risk to our customers and ourselves and have discussed the best way to do this at length. We have noticed a large reduction in people visiting the business centre in the last couple of weeks and this is as it should be, as we are being asked to stay at home as much as possible and limit the number of times we go outside. Some people will have had to resume shielding and others may just feel more comfortable staying indoors. We believe that the best way forward is to encourage our customers to make more use of our free delivery service to the Wivenhoe area. Meals can be ordered on line or through our social media pages, by telephone or e mail and paid for either via the website or we can collect payment in cash or by using our card reader.

This is our Saturday boy Jim, who has been delivering our orders since we opened. He’d like to be able to expand his ‘round!’

As you know, we are also being asked to limit any travel to an absolute minimum and stay local as much as we can. We think therefore that it will be sensible for the next few weeks (hopefully) or months (if necessary) if we concentrate our days working at the kitchen to one per week. We will shop for our ingredients and cook on one day. Previously, we had been spending several evenings each week cooking in the kitchen but this necessitates several journeys and we are keen to reduce the number of times we get in our cars to either work or shop for ingredients. We will continue to be at the unit on Saturday mornings and will make the deliveries and prepare the food for the following week which once cooked, will be frozen ready for the next Saturday’s service. We will let you know each week, exactly what we have available to buy from the freezer or from the week’s current menu.


The current situation with this virus has been described as like ‘being in the eye of the storm’ and we are as keen as anyone, to get through this as soon as possible while doing what we can to support all of the key workers who are doing so much for our benefit. We think that by making these small temporary changes to the service that we offer, we’re going to be doing our (small) bit to help.
